Q. What is Theology? Can you recommend some the leading
names on Theology for my own research?
A. Study of Religions. There are two major type of religions
- Abrahamic Or Middle Eastern Religions (Christianity Judaism and Islam)
- Eastern Religions (Hindu, Jainism, Buddhism and Taoism, Zoroastrianism,
Sikhism)
Another religion with small following but worth mentioning is the Baha'i
religion (a collective religion believing in all saints and prophets of other
religions)
Recommendation: Read the holy books form each religion like Koran, Bible,
Gita and so on. Do not read about one religion from the point of view of
another competing religion. The best way to learn about a religion is to read it
from its own most famous scholars. I found a lot of misinformation, distortion
and misinterpretation by competing scholars from other religions. In another
words, if you want to learn about Islam do not read about it from a
Christian author and if you want to learn about Christianity do not read about
it from an Atheist and so on... Of course, after your initial research you can
always read about anything from any one. Also if you want to learn the essence
of a religion read about it from its more spiritual and positive scholars who
focus on the spiritual message of the scriptures rather than literal
interpretation of books. When you peel out the traditions and cultural elements
of the religions, you'll be surprised how similar is the message is

No. These names are listed here for your own research and knowledge benefits.
Although I have my own views, I adopt a general rule not to promote one
philosophy, religion or point of view. Additionally I'm neither scholar nor a
philosopher but, like everyone else, I have my own personal belief and value
system that works for me, I do not ask you to adopt any system other than the
one developed and tested by yourself. The sole purpose of providing this
information here is to provide you with alternative point of views. It is your
own responsibility to research them, test them and see what works for your life.
If you are interested, you can find many courses in colleges and universities
that can teach you about these subject far better then I do.
